For a simple rule of thumb, aim to be on the water about 2 hours before to 2 hours after high tide, when current and feeding activity often pick up. Spring and summer bring warm water and long days, which makes it easier to plan around the tide and still catch great light for photos. Fall can be a sweet spot too: fewer boats, cooler air, and the same playful Atlantic bottlenose dolphins cruising for an easy meal. Any season works - timing it with the tide is what makes it feel like magic.
